light on the horizon
we had a very productive trip back to platania last weekend. sadly it was a very short visit and i didn’t really get to spend time with gianfranco and the other great people of platania but it was great to get to see the cappellos (including maria) ever so briefly in rome enroute and to be completely spoilt by their hospitality.
ulf and his girflriend jana (below) has returned from mexico looking very tanned and complaining about how cold it is in calabria (tsk!), it was great to catch up and spend some time with them.
i’ve not been able to spend much time working on the house unfortunately but ulf has made great strides and it feels like we’re on the finishing straight.
work is progressing on many fronts - we’ve got someone doing the final plastering and we even have a working phoneline! vincenzo was of course the first to call us on it, only an hour after it was installed!
i’m working on putting up a whole sequence of photos of the house as i realise that there’s no overview of it and even i forget how we started. for now, you can view some photos i took last weekend. it may not look like we’re much closer but we are. i’m confident that we’ll be able to live there later in the summer.
